21st International Database Engineering & Applications Symposium
IDEAS '17
would be hosted by University of the West of England, Bristol, England
.
In co-operation with ACM, ACM SIGKDD and ACM SIGMOD
July 12-14, 2017
Web & Cyber Security(Thematic Track)
Scope and Background
Nowadays, the notion of security has deeply changed with respect to last decades. In particular, data generated by web based system, government and companies exhibits a complex structure (e.g. multi-table data, XML data, web data, time series and sequences, graphs and trees, social network posts, tweets) and a multi channell access structure. This fact poses new challenges for current information systems for storing, managing and protecting these complex data effectively. The aim of this special session is to bring together researchers and practitioners of cyber security in this new area of modern computer science. It aims also at integrating recent results from existing fields such as fingerprinting, access control, cryptography to discuss and introduce new algorithmic foundations and representation formalisms. We are interested in advanced techniques that while preserving the informative richness of data, allow us to efficiently and effectively protect them from malicious uses.
Topics
Suggested topics include (but not limited to) the following:
• Physical Data Protection • Secure Dematerialization • Data Mining for Security • Cloud Security • Authorization Strategis • Access Control • Fingerprinting • RFID Security • Workflow Security • Social Network Security
