Call for Track Papers: Distributed Ledger Technologies/ Blockchain

This track forms part of the annual IDEAS conference: a top international forum for data engineering researchers, practitioners, developers, and application users to explore revolutionary ideas and results, and to exchange techniques, tools, and experiences.

Scope

Distributed Ledger is an emerging technology that provides a way of storing and managing information in a public, immutable and distributed way. This technology allowed for the creation of decentralized cryptocurrencies (such as Bitcoin) and the proliferation of software applications for e-government, e-voting, financial services, identity management, supply chains, sensor networks, cloud computing, Internet of Things, etc, also relying on the power of smart contracts. Strong reliability and security levels have been reached by extending the existing cryptographic schemes in blockchain, obtaining secure and powerful software systems, which could work in a computer network over which even the trust is distributed. However, such applications are asked to cope with sensitive information, where the sharing of such data could potentially violate individual privacy. Moreover, several security issues are still open, especially when smart-contract technology is enabled. The goal of this track is to provide a forum for researchers, practitioners, business leaders and policy makers, for the discussion and the sharing of new ideas and solutions, aiming at creating a scientific background for a solid development of innovative applications using distributed ledger technology and, especially, blockchains.

Topics

Topics of interest include, but are not limited to the following.

Exploiting the distributed ledger technology. Innovative applications using blockchain. Distributed ledgers in IoT. Handling information uncertainty in smart contracts. Trust, reputation and distributed consensus. Privacy management in blockchain. Formal verification and validation of smart contracts. Formal methods in blockchain. Legal and economic aspects of blockchain.

Submission for the track

When submitting a paper, pl. select the appropriate track unless you are submitting to the main event (indicated by "General Pool").

The papers submitted for a track would be reviewed by the program committee aided by the members of this track committee. The accepted papers would be presented during IDEAS 2019 and would be included in the proceedings of IDEAS 2019.

Please consult the guides given in the right hand margin for FAQ, submission guidelines etc.

All paper submission for IDEAS’2019 would be via the corresponding pages on ConfSys. Authors should sign up as user of the system at: https://confsys.encs.concordia.ca/ConfSys/jsp/index.jsp
