Scope
The scope of this track is privacy as related to information that is collected when an individual interacts with so called "free" service provided on the web. The current benchmark for privacy protection is embedded in the EU's General Data Protection Regulation(GDPR). This regulation gives control to individuals over their personal data and requires any organization which collects and controls personal information to have in place appropriate measures both technical and logistic, to implement the data protection principles. Such organizations are required to disclose their legal basis and purpose of data collection operations and have publicize the period of data retention and and the sharing of it with third parities. The data collecting organization are required to provide, to any data subject on request, a portable copy of the data collected in a common format. The data subject has the right to have their data corrected or even deleted. How would the new web avoid this or would the same issues repeated. Ideas of a paid service with watertight privacy.
