Athens
Athens is the capital and largest city of Greece and has a population close to 5 million people. It is full of museums and archeological sites, with a recorded history that spans at least 3.000 years. Athens International Airport
Athens is served by the Athens International Airport (ATH), located near the town of Spata, in the eastern Messoghia plain, some 35 km (22 miles) east of Athens.
The airport is served by the Metro, the suburban rail, buses to Piraeus port, Athens’ city center and its suburbs, and also taxis.
A ticket for the Metro costs 8 euros (one way) and may be purchased at the Airport Metro station. A train departs every 30 minutes from the airport. Link to Metro site
Bus tickets cost 5 euros and may be purchased at the Bus station outside Exit 4.
A taxi ride from the airport to the city center costs approximately 35 euros.

Visa
Greece is a member state of the European Union(EU) and a part of Schengen area.
Visa is usually not required for travelers from European countries, and for citizens of a number of other countries including u. S. A. and Canada.
